Solving Large-Format & Paper Bag Finishing Bottlenecks

Traditional multi-step standalone finishing setups cause registration drift, massive foil waste, substrate scratching, and excessive labor overhead.

Conventional Fragmented Production

  • Severe Foil Wastage: Standard hot stamping and basic foil machines consume continuous foil over non-image areas, driving production costs up.
  • Frequent Intermediate Pallet Handling: Manual handling between foil stamping, screen printing, UV curing, and stacking increases labor costs and leads to sheet edge damage or scuffing.
  • Large Format Instability: Oversized shopping bag and luxury box blanks (>1000 mm) flex during transfer, resulting in curing inconsistencies and misaligned stacking.
  • Thermal Distortion: Traditional hot stamping heat degrades thin shopping bag kraft paper (90-157 g/m²), producing curling and paper wrinkling.

Our Synchronized Integrated Finishing Line

  • Intelligent Foil Economy: Equipped with Skip-Foil and Foil Pull-Back features to maximize foil utilization and slash raw consumable costs.
  • Continuous In-Line Operation: Seamlessly transfers sheets from the Lite Cold Foil module directly into the UV/IR curing tunnel and automatic collector with zero manual touchpoints.
  • Rigid High-Speed Sheet Control: Handles large formats up to 1500 × 1050 mm smoothly at up to 4,000 sheets/hour with flawless pneumatic registration.
  • Cold Transfer Chemistry: Ambient temperature screen-printed cold foil adhesives eliminate heat curl on light paper while providing ultra-sharp foil edge resolution.

Synchronized 3-Station Finishing Workflow

A streamlined, uninterrupted mechanical sequence designed for high uptime, low waste, and maximum visual impact.

01

Screen Adhesive Printing & Cold Foiling

Connected inline with a screen printer, UV cold foil adhesive is applied to specified design zones. The QC-LTS pressure unit laminates cold foil onto the sheet with micron-accurate registration.

Key Mechanism: Skip-Foil & Pull-Back tension controls to save foil.
02

Premium UV & IR Radiative Curing

Sheets transition smoothly onto the heat-resistant conveyor belt into the 35 kW UV/IR drying tunnel. High-intensity photo-polymerization instantly cures the cold foil adhesive and clear topcoat varnishes.

Key Mechanism: Configurable 3 UV lamps for flexible heat/energy curves.
03

Automated Non-Stop Sheet Collection

The fully integrated 2 kW paper collector uses pneumatic side-joggers and decelerators to stack cured sheets neatly at speeds up to 4,000 SPH, ready for immediate die-cutting and bag folding.

Key Mechanism: High-pile auto delivery eliminates surface scratching and labor.

Sensory Embellishment & High-Value Visual Effects

Empower luxury packaging and paper shopping bags with premium finishes that boost brand appeal and command higher margins.

Ultra-Fine Line Cold Foil

Flawless reproduction of intricate typography, fine filigree lines, and micro-embossed patterns without thermal expansion distortion.

Large Solid Metallic Areas

Dense, mirror-like solid gold, silver, holographic, and tinted foil coverage across broad paper bag surfaces without pinholes.

Spot Gloss & Matte Contrast

Synchronized high-gloss UV varnish application directly over coated stocks or layered over cold foil for striking tactile depth.

Specialty Textures

Heavy deposit screen UV allows crystal abrasive, soft-touch velvet effects, and drip-off sensory finishes for boutique retail packaging.

Target Applications & Substrate Compatibility

Engineered for paper converters handling wide grammage spectra (90 to 450 g/m²) and expansive format sizes.

Luxury Retail Paper Bags

Ideal for fashion brand carriers, department store shopping bags, and cosmetic gift bags. Accommodates large sheets up to 1500 mm wide to fit one-piece folded bag designs with full foil side gussets.

Paper Grammage: 157–300 g/m²

Large-Format Folding Cartons

High-speed finishing for premium liquor gift sets, consumer electronics outer boxes, seasonal presentation cases, and confectionery packaging demanding high-opacity foil.

Paper Grammage: 250–450 g/m²

Display Packaging & Specialty Print

Point-of-sale (POS) standees, book jackets, promotional posters, and laminated corrugated micro-flute liners requiring precise spot varnish and cold foil stamping.

Paper Grammage: 90–450 g/m²

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Key technical and operational questions regarding our complete cold foil and UV curing line.

How does the Skip-Foil and Foil Pull-Back system reduce production costs?
Unlike standard foil stamping units that unwind foil continuously, the QC-LTS series features intelligent programmable foil feed controls. When there are gaps between image areas or during non-printed sheet intervals, the Skip-Foil function suspends foil unwinding, while the Foil Pull-Back function repositions unused foil sections back into the stamping zone. This drastically cuts foil consumption on paper bag and carton layouts.
Can the line handle light shopping bag paper without tearing or wrinkling?
Yes. The QC-LTS handles substrates starting from 90 g/m² up to 450 g/m² (with 157–450 g/m² recommended for high-coverage cold foiling). Because cold foiling uses ambient-temperature pressure rollers instead of high thermal heat and heavy stamping dies, thin paper bag sheets experience zero thermal shock, heat shrinkage, or curl.
Which screen printing machines can be coupled with this complete line?
The QC-LTS Lite Cold Foil Machine is engineered to interface directly with both semi-automatic and fully automatic cylinder/flatbed screen printing presses. Our engineering team provides custom optical sensor handshakes and mechanical bridging tables to ensure seamless synchronized inline operation.
Can the UV and IR lamp array configuration in the ZP-106-UV-SZ be customized?
Yes. While the standard configuration is equipped with 3 high-intensity UV lamps (35 kW dryer power) for ink flow and temperature stabilization, lamp quantities, spectrum types (mercury, gallium, LED hybrid), and positions can be customized to match your specific varnish formulations and curing speed requirements. IR lamp is optional.
